Who is eligible to participate in our paid opportunities?
We welcome individuals from various backgrounds, gaming experiences, and demographics. Whether you're a casual gamer or a hardcore enthusiast, your insights are valuable to us.
Most of our projects are for gamers aged 18-45, though each project has its own unique requirements.
We are typically asked to recruit gamers from the UK, USA, and Canada - but more and more, we are being asked to recruit gamers from other key and/ or emerging gaming markets. -
Where are the playtests conducted?
Our playtests are primarily conducted online, allowing participants from the UK, USA, and beyond to join from the comfort of their homes.
We also offer face-to-face/ in-person research and playtest opportunities - normally centred around cities like London, Los Angeles, and Montreal. These sessions typically take place in the playtest facilities of game development studios or their publisher partners. -
What should I expect during a research or playtest session?
During a playtest, you'll engage with unreleased games or features and provide feedback on your experience. Sessions vary in length but typically last between a few hours and a few days. On occasions, we do look for gamers to participate in a week of playtesting.
Other research sessions are much more straightforward and typically last 1-2 hours. -
Will I be compensated for participating?
Yes, we value your time and feedback. Participants are usually compensated with monetary rewards, gift cards, or exclusive merchandise, depending on the specific study.
For online research (e.g. a focus group), you can expect £75/ $100 or higher.
For in-person playtests at a client's test lab, you can expect a daily rate of £125/ $150 or higher - depending on the duration of the playtest. -
How will I know if Ive been selected?
If you're a match for an upcoming opportunity, we'll reach out to you via email and text/ SMS with all the necessary details, including session timings and any preparatory information.

Can I participate in multiple playtests?
Absolutely! You're welcome to participate in as many playtests as you qualify for. Regular involvement is encouraged, as it provides diverse insights for our clients.
However, please note that we are keen not to overuse players and like our clients to see fresh faces in their research and/ or playtests. Our paid opportunities should not be viewed as a secondary income source but more an opportunity to help shape the future of something you love or enjoy, i.e. video gaming. -
What happens to the feedback I provide?
Your feedback is compiled and shared with our clients—game developers and researchers—to help them refine and enhance their products. Your insights play a crucial role in shaping the future of gaming experiences.

How do I update my profile or contact information?
To update your details, simply reach out to us at info@gromotion.co.uk with your new information, and we'll ensure your profile is up to date. The more up-to-date your profile, the better chance you have of selection.
